Commonwealth Beach Sprint Regatta- Poole 17th-18th August

The first ever Commonwealth Beach Sprints will be held at Sandbanks Beach, Poole in Dorset between the 17th and 18th August, 2018.

Racing will take place in men's and women's coastal singles and doubles as well as a mixed quad event. Racing starts on foot with a beach sprint of between 10m and 50m. Rowers will then enter the boat and slalom the boat around three buoys over a 250m course. They will then row straight back to the beach before exiting the boat and running across the finish line on the beach. You can see a video of the Pescara Beach Spints HERE.

Stirling family effort secures Dee prize

The North East Regatta in Aberdeen on Saturday produced a shock result with the Championship of the Dee trophy being awarded to Stirling Rowing Club.

Scots Rowing sensation Karen Bennett is Glasgow 2018 Ambassador

Scottish Rowing star Karen Bennett has been unveiled as the next official ambassador for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships – the biggest sporting event to be staged in Scotland since the Commonwealth Games.

Impressive wins for Sinclair and Bennett at GB Rowing Team Trials

Scotland’s Alan Sinclair and Karen Bennett both delivered impressive wins in their respective pairs finals, whilst Scottish Rowing’s group of athletes had their share of fine performances on the final day of the GB Rowing Team Senior, U23 & FISU Trials at Caversham.*

Final GB team trial invites for 13 Scottish Rowing athletes

Scottish Rowing is sending a 13-strong group of its supported athletes to Caversham this week for the GB Rowing Team Senior, Under 23 and FISU trials (14-16 April), the final opportunity to secure places on international teams this season.

Strathclyde Park Regatta 2018

Event & Entry information for the 2018 Strathclyde Park Regatta is now available on the new event website www.scotchamps.org

The closing date is Tuesday 17th of April at 5pm. All entries must be made through the RowingEntry online entry system. Full details on how to enter and conditions of entry can be found in the SPR Entry Information.

Tony Dean - Funeral Notice

Tony Dean, of North Kelvinside School R.C. / Glagow Schools R.C., Clydesdale A.R.C., Edinburgh University B.C., Heriot-Watt University B.C., St.Andrew B.C., and North British A.R.C. died on 23rd February after a long illness.

The funeral will take place at 4.30pm on Wednesday 28th at Roselawn Crematorium, Ballygowan Road, Belfast, BT5 7TZ, and thereafter at Belfast Boat Club, Cutters Wharf, Belfast .

JBT Inverness Winter Head and Scottish Students Championship Head, 10th/11th February 2018 - Results Report

The JBT Inverness Winter Head Regatta was held last weekend on the waters of the Caledonian Canal with crews coming from across Scotland to take part in one of the most important events in the Scottish rowing calendar, racing over a 4.5Km course from Dochgarroch to the rowing club’s boathouse close to Tomnahurich Bridge. The majority of universities and rowing clubs from Scotland were represented competing in various class of boats from single sculls to the eights as rowed by the university crews in the annual Oxford and Cambridge boat race on the Thames. Inverness Rowing Club entered a competitive number of crew boats with varied success and represented the local club well in the process.

Inverness coach Ian Hunter finds a “life transforming” solution to continuing coaching
