Heather Stanning extended her golden streak with Helen Glover as Scottish rowers helped the GB Rowing Team finish top of the medals table at the World Cup in Varese, Italy.
There was a “fantastic” bronze medal for Glasgow’s Katherine Grainger in the double scull and Premnay’s Vicki Meyer-Laker helped the women’s eight to a third-placed finish on her return from injury.
Glasgow-born Angus Groom won his first senior gold medal with the men’s quadruple scull and there was silver in the non-Olympic class lightweight men’s pair for Kirriemuir’s Sam Scrimgeour and partner Jono Clegg.

Hugh McGOLDRICK (82), died peacefully and with dignity on 9th June 2015.
His family encourage ALL who knew him to join in a fitting send off to a huge man. A private cremation on Friday 19th will be followed by a celebration of his life starting at 2:30pm in Bridge of Allan Parish Church, FK9 4NW and continuing round the corner in The Queens Hotel. Club ties and blazers please.
Apart from a stellar rowing career (his own words!), he qualified as an umpire rather later in life than most, in order to contribute to the sport he enjoyed so much.
Please pass on to let his rowing friends know that they are welcome.
