This years Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships is running on the 20th and 21st of November at the Bellahouston Sports Centre, Bellahouston Drive, Glasgow. To support the event we are seeking volunteers to help out in a number of roles. We had great support from volunteers last year and ran a very successful event and this year we hope to continue that and do even better.
We are looking for people to help in Registration, Commentary, Marshalling, Prize giving and Results over the 2 days. Volunteers do not need to be available for all of the days. If you are interested in volunteering at this exciting event please email laura.jennings@scottish-rowing.org.uk stating when you would be available and the prefered area you would like to work in.

Scottish Rowing is dedicated to supporting clubs to grow their membership. London 2012 was the most successful olympic games of all time for the GB Rowing Team, and the effect of this was seen at rowing clubs around the UK. To enable clubs to utilise the raised profile of rowing during the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and optimise on the ‘olympic bounce’ following the Games, Scottish Rowing is delighted to offer affiliated clubs the opportunity to apply for a development grant to help them get ‘Ready for Rio’. Grants will be awarded for projects which aim to increase club membership and introduce more peope into rowing.

Heather Stanning produced “one of the best performances of all time” as Scottish rowers helped the GB Rowing Team top the medals table at the World Championships in Aiguebelette, France.
Stanning, from Lossiemouth, and partner Helen Glover continued their dominance of the women’s pair – an event they are unbeaten in since 2011 – by successfully defending their world title.
Munlochy’s Alan Sinclair won bronze in the men’s four, while Katherine Grainger and Vicki Meyer-Laker ensured their boats qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
There were also medals in the non-Olympic class competitions for Sam Scrimgeour, Imogen Walsh and Karen Bennett.
