OVERVIEW
The Scotland Rowing Team Beach Sprints Regatta is a new event for the 2023 season and is designed for both existing beach sprint rowers and those new to the format.
The Regatta forms a central part of the selection process for the Scotland Rowing Team in 2023. It also will be used by British Rowing as an early season identification for athletes seeking selection to GB teams in the summer.
The format of this event is designed to maximise competitive racing opportunities alongside other rowers of a similar speed and experience. The Regatta will be run over a standard Beach Sprint course and race distance and will begin with a processional time trial. From this, athletes will progress onto side-by-side racing with either a round robin or head-to-head knockout format to be used (subject to entry numbers).
A reminder that those who wish to make themselves eligible for selection for the GB CW1x, CM1x or CMix2x for the World Beach Games in Bali and World Finals in Italy are required to race at either this Regatta, the Welsh Championships, or the English Regatta.
COME AND TRY
Scottish Rowing will provide opportunities alongside the Regatta for members of our rowing community to try out coastal sculling in coxed quads. Individuals who signed up for the recent ‘Come and Try’ session in St Andrews (that unfortunately had to be cancelled) will be contacted directly over the coming days and given first option on training times. Any remaining places will be made available to the Scottish Rowing community on a first-come-first-serve basis (details will be published on the Scottish Rowing website and social media subject to availability).

To register for this event please complete the online registration.
Please note that entries will only be accepted from rowers who have completed the registration process for the Scotland Rowing Team in 2023 and / or those who have completed the Great Britain Beach Sprints Registration in 2023.
U19 events are open to competitors who have not attained the age of 18 years before 1 September 2022.
The deadline for entries is 12 noon on Friday 5 May 2023.
Any late entries will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Regatta Organisers.
