Scottish Rowing is delighted to announce our new Winter Webinar Series. Following our Summer Webinar Series where we hosted Robin Williams, Scottish Rowing Performance Programme lead coaches and a Scottish Olympian's panel with Katherine Grainger, Heather Stanning and Dot Roberts, we are looking forward to delivering a range of speakers and content to add value to your Scottish Rowing membership in the coming weeks and months.
The Scottish Rowing Winter Webinar Series will comprise of 9 sessions delivered by three renowned experts from September 2020 to March 2021. We are delighted that for the first time we will host European Champion and GB Olympic silver medal winning cox from Rio 2016 Zoe de Toledo for a trio of coxing webinars, focussed on how to improve coxing skill and performance. These sessions will provide insights from Zoe’s experience at the top level of the sport, which will be beneficial for coaches and coxes alike across the Scottish Rowing community.
Robin Williams returns to provide three further sessions following his well-received ’Technical Excellence’ series earlier in the year. The upcoming series provides Scottish Rowing members a further opportunity to dive deeper into Robin’s exceptional knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of our sport from one of the world’s most successful rowing coaches.
We are also delighted to introduce Alex Wolf to our Scottish Rowing members. Alex has recently released his book, “Strength and Conditioning for Rowing”, where he shares his years of experience as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the GB Rowing Team over multiple Olympic cycles. Alex’s three sessions will provide the opportunity to explore key concepts within strength and conditioning and how it relates to rowing training and performance.
Andy Barton, Workforce Development Manager for Scottish Rowing, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to provide these new development opportunities for coaches, rowers and coxes this Autumn and Winter throughout Scotland from three world leaders in their respective fields.
“The Summer Webinar Series provided our members the chance to hear from and ask questions of some of the greats in our sport from the comfort of their own homes and proved to be very popular.
“Lee Boucher (Head of Performance Pathway at Scottish Rowing) and I have worked together to design a varied and inspiring menu of options for our members to choose from which we hope will add value to your Scottish Rowing membership and your experience in the sport, whether that be as a coach, rower or cox. I’m particularly excited to have Zoe on board to deliver our coxing sessions, an area that we are delighted to be providing some new support to our coxes all over the country.”
Scottish Rowing members can enjoy these webinars for free as a benefit of your membership.
