Scottish Rowing is delighted to announce that a Scotland team will make its debut at the 2024 British Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR).
The JIRR is an annual competition for J14, J15 and J16 athletes contested by teams representing the various British Rowing regions. Recently, following a review of the event format by the JIRR Organising Committee, Scotland will be represented for the first time and Scottish Rowing has been asked to identify a team.
The 2024 Junior Inter-Regional Regatta will be held on Saturday, 20th April at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.
Lee Boucher, Scottish Rowing Head of Performance and Pathways, said:
“We are all very excited that Scotland will be represented at the 2024 British Junior Inter-Regional Regatta for the first time and would like to thank the JIRR organising committee and British Rowing for agreeing to include a Scotland team in the revised event programme.
“This represents a fantastic opportunity for our younger juniors to compete in a team environment at a national level competition and I’m sure that the Scotland team will rise to the occasion.”
