Simultaneously, the Saints Regatta Beach Sprints will be held on the 9th and 10th of September. Heading up to Aberdeen next, to Scotland’s own tideway, on the 28th and 29th of
October for the Aberdeen Head of the River.

The Clyde 3 Heads will take place on Saturday the 4th of November this year. Let’s hope the river behaves for all of

our athletes.

On the 11th and 12th of November the greatly anticipated Caley Marina Fours and Small Boats Head will take place, with most of the racing community descending upon Inverness for the two-day event.

Following that we will have the finals of the Scottish Rowing Indoor Schools League at an in-person event with the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships on the 24th of November. This year taking place at Fettes College, Edinburgh. Last years Schools League was a great success, and we hope to have the same again.

Then it is back to the river Clyde to round us off for 2023, at the Clydesdale Scullers Head on the 25th of November.

Kit For All Initiative

One of the barriers faced by many rowers is the price of Kit. The initiative will be simple following the sportscotland Kit for All Campaign, which aims to provide sports kit to those who need it most, including people who live in deprived or low-income areas.

When your club signs-up to be a part of the Kit for All Initiative you will receive a donation box and toolkit to use. People will donate kit that they no longer use into the designated box at the club and then when a new person is joining, or someone needs some kit that cannot afford it, they can take from the donation box.

Photo of the Month

We know there are plenty of fun and interesting photos that our members capture, whether that’s during events, out on the water or of our animal companions. Starting now we are going to have a Photo of the Month competition.

Each month will have a different theme. A small committee will choose four photos each month to be finalists and then you, our rowing community, will vote on your favourite. The winner of each month will win a Scottish Rowing Visor. At the end of the year the 12 winning photos will be voted on for Photo of the Year, which will be awarded alongside the Scottish Rowing Awards!

This month’s theme is: Best Race Face

We all know racing comes with some fantastic facial expressions and we want to see them, whether you’re on an erg or on the water we want to see your best race face!

Deadline for submissions: 24th September 2023
