On Sunday 23rd June Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association organised and hosted the 5th Aberdeen Inter-Schools Regatta which sees the wet start crews from their schools project race against each other. All crews had a maximum of 10 weeks rowing experience and raced each other in coxed quads over a 300m distance. There were 49 wet start rowers representing 6 Aberdeen City and Shire schools whilst the 100+ ASRA members had the rare chance to represent their own school with 7 crews representing 17 schools racing in coxed quads.

10 wet start crews raced in two pools of 5 crews, each racing each other once with the winner taking 3 points and the loser 1 point. Portlethen Academy A topped group 1 with an undefeated run whilst there was a three way tie on 10 points in group 2 between Portlethen Academy B, Cults Academy/Mackie Academy composite and Mackie Academy/Aberdeen Grammar School/Dunnottar Primary composite which resulted in an exciting four boat final. The three way composite of Mackie / Dunnottar / Grammar were victorious and lifted the Aberdeen Inter-Schools Challenge Cup.
