We are pleased to advise that sportscotland has recently approved an addendum to the Scottish Rowing Return to Performance Training plan which enables a further 18 rowers from across Scotland to train under the Scottish Government’s dispensation for professional and performance sport.

These athletes have all achieved the relevant standards as outlined by the GB Rowing Team and they have been allowed to return to training to support their preparations for upcoming trials and assessments as they aim for selection to international teams this summer.

The Scottish Rowing Return to Performance Training plan has been developed to ensure the safety of our athletes, coaches and their families and to help minimise the risk of community transmission of the virus. All those involved have been appraised of the risks involved and have committed to adhering to the strict operating procedures and risk mitigation strategies outlined in the plan.

Scottish Rowing Head of Performance Pathway and Covid Officer, Lee Boucher, said: “It has been encouraging to see so many young rowers from across Scotland maintaining their commitment to the sport and their progression during the pandemic and I am pleased that we have been able to recognise these efforts and support the ambitions of those who aspire to Great Britain representation this summer.”

In total 33 athletes representing 9 Scottish Rowing member clubs are now named within the Scottish Rowing Return to Performance Training plan.
