Entries are now open for the 2020 Scottish Rowing Winter Challenge (incorporating the Scottish Student Rowing Championships). Entries can be made at www.rowingentry.com, with full event information on our events website. Entries close 19th January 2020.
Hosted at the Scottish Rowing Centre in Strathclyde Country Park, the challenge is an exciting, innovative event which will first see crews complete a 3.8km lap of the regatta course, followed by seeded 500m side-by-side sprint racing. Competitors will have the opportunity to race in 4 divisions over 2 days, with events on offer for juniors, novices, seniors and masters rowers; from single sculls up to eights.
Lee Boucher, Scottish Rowing Head of Performance Pathway said: “We look forward to welcoming rowers of all ages to Strathclyde Park for the inaugural Scottish Rowing Winter Challenge. An exciting opportunity for the rowing community to test themselves in a new race format, combining a traditional winter time-trial format with some fast paced side-by-side sprints.”
Entries are welcomed from clubs from Scotland, rest of the UK and further overseas. We hope the format of the event will showcase Strathclyde Park as a versatile, high quality venue which when combined with the excellent indoor training facilities available within the Scottish Rowing Centre, makes for a truly world class facility.
