Appeal for Commentators

Posted: 2 April, 2019

Are you passionate about rowing at all levels?

Do you want to have the best seat in the house for racing?

We want to hear from you!

Scottish Rowing is looking for new commentators to take to the microphone this racing season, to bring all the action to our spectators at Strathclyde Park.

This year, the park will host the Scottish Rowing Spring Regatta, the Scottish Rowing Championships and the Home International Regatta.

In order to join us for a trial run and some commentary coaching at the Scottish Rowing Spring Regatta, we would love to hear you submit:

• An audio file (recorded on your phone is fine!) of commentary on the following video clip*
• A short video clip, a maximum 1-minute long, telling us about yourself and your interest in rowing and commentating

*Please start commentating at 5:30 into this clip – We have just passed over to you commentating at the 1500m marker, the previous commentator has asked you to describe the action from where you are through to the finish. Pick up the race running into the 1500m mark.

Please submit both clips by email to: office@scottish-rowing.org.uk

We will be looking out for:

• Clear and accurate information about the race developments
• Good tone to build the excitement coming into the closing stages
• Noticeable interest and passion for rowing.

Please also fill in the attached Google form with your availability and contact details.

The deadline for responses is Monday 15th April 2019.

Any queries can be addressed to Camilla Hadland (hadlandcamilla@gmail.com) on the Scottish Rowing Regatta Organising Committee.
