The Scotland Rowing Team for the 2015 Home International Regatta has been announced today by Scottish Rowing. The Team comprises 63 athletes, representing 19 different clubs, assisted by 19 coaches and support staff.

The Senior Men and Senior Women are both defending champions in their respective team competitions and feature 2014 event winners Calum Irvine (M2- M4-), Graham Ord (M2- M4-), Robyn Hart-Winks (W Lwt 1x) and Caitie Gorton-Phillips (W4+). Commonwealth Rowing Championship medalists from 2014, Kieran Brown (M Lwt 2x, M 4x), Cameron Buchan (M4-, 8+) and Georgina Grandfield (W2x), will add their experience to the team.

Emily Bowie, an event winner in 2013, but who missed last year’s regatta due to injury will captain the women’s team. Scott Meenagh, will captain the Senior Men and will also lead a group of four Para-Rowing athletes, the largest contingent ever to represent Scotland.

The Junior Teams feature a number of exciting up and coming athletes including the double scull of Seb Glen and Callum Urquhart, fresh from their win at the British Rowing Junior Championships at the weekend. Samantha Cassidy and Sade Hudgell-Igweke, winners of W J16 pair at the British Championships, are selected to race in the coxless fours event.

The four nation competition, also featuring teams representing England, Wales and Ireland, will be hosted by Scotland at Strathclyde Park on Saturday 25th July.
