The Glasgow Academy's Gavin Horsburgh and Josh Armstrong led the way as Scotland's junior rowers recorded some impressive performances at the GB Rowing Team Junior Assessment in Boston, Lincolnshire, on the 21st/22nd of February.
17-year-old Horsburgh from Lochwinnoch and Armstrong, 16, from Glasgow, set the pace on the first day of the 2-day trial over the 5,000m course on the River Witham winning the junior men's double scull by over 11 seconds from their nearest rivals.

On the Sunday the Glasgow duo were split up by the GB selectors with Horsburgh and his partner George Lawton (Northwich RC) finishing second overall in the same category, 11 seconds ahead of Armstrong and Scott Ozslanav-Harris (Grange School) who came home third.
Other strong Scottish performances were recorded by Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association's Gregor Duncan and Oliver Kinghorn (5th in the junior men's pair - Saturday), Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club's Ryan Morrison (7th in the junior 16 men's single scull - Saturday), Glasgow Academy's Alex Rankin and George Watson's College's Laura McDonald (11th and 12th respectively in the junior women's single scull - Sunday).
