On Friday July 18th the Loch Lomond Rowing Club will be transporting the Queen's Baton across Loch Lomond as part of the relay building up to the Commonwealth Games. The baton will be carried in an 8 by Scottish Rowing Vice President Martin Claxton from Drumkinnon Bay to Balloch Park jetty at 16.30.
The baton will be brought by one of the other bearers through the crescent of Lomond Shores and down to the waterfront, where Martin will receive the baton and wade out to the 8, get in the cox's seat and then be rowed by Paul, Denis, Steve, Eva, Tom, Michael, Andy and Ian. If the weather allows other Loch Lomond club members will take a boat on the water and escort the 8 in its journey which will start at the small jetty on the east shore of Drumkinnon Bay to Balloch Park jetty where the baton will be handed on to the next bearer. Please come and join in the fun!
