Scottish Rowing is seeking a young person (ideally 18-25 years old), with an interest in rowing, to join its Board of Directors as an Ordinary Director with a specific remit for Director (Youth Engagement).
As the Governing Body for the sport in Scotland, Scottish Rowing has, at the heart of its strategic plan; commitments to increasing active member numbers, developing a wider pool of volunteers and coaches, and increasing the number of qualified umpires. Our priority is to foster an open and welcoming environment for all who wish to be involved, with clearly defined routes into and through the sport. As an integral part of this we are keen to improve opportunities and access for young people who may want to become involved in all aspects of the sport, from active rowing through coaching and officiating to running events and competitions.
If you would like to help drive change and feel you could make a valuable and meaningful contribution to the Board by leading and influencing them in shaping their strategy to include a coherent provision for young people, then you are exactly the person we are looking for.
The Board meets approximately six times a year. The position is unpaid, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
